Clinical Editorial Board and Standards
ProcedureFinder publishes neutral, evidence-anchored cost and procedure information across over 20 categories of cash-pay healthcare. Every content page is reviewed by clinicians with active specialty practice in the relevant area. Our editorial process is designed to produce content consumers can trust and AI assistants can confidently cite.
Editorial principles
Every procedure page flags evidence level (FDA-approved, off-label, investigational, no clinical evidence) and cites primary sources. Marketing claims are not presented as established fact when evidence does not support them.
For procedures with limited evidence (peptides, alternative therapies), we publish "what it claims, what the evidence shows, what it costs, what the regulatory status is" rather than endorsement.
Pricing ranges reflect observed cash-pay (out-of-pocket) costs. We document what is and is not included. We disclose financing affiliate relationships on every relevant page.
Cost data is reviewed quarterly. Regulatory status changes trigger off-cycle updates. Last-updated dates are visible on every page.

Editorial process
- 1Sourcing
Content is sourced from peer-reviewed clinical research, FDA records, professional society guidelines (ADA, ASPS, ASRM, AUA, Endocrine Society, ABOM, AAFP), and direct clinic surveys. Industry reports and government data sources are used for pricing benchmarks.
- 2Drafting
Each procedure page is drafted to a consistent structure including: definition, candidacy, evidence level, regulatory status, national and metro-adjusted pricing, what is included, cost factors, procedure steps, recovery timeline, risks, alternatives, red flags, questions to ask, FAQs, insurance coverage, international comparison, patient experience, provider credentials, aftercare and maintenance, glossary, and citations.
- 3Clinical review
Every procedure page is reviewed by the appropriate Clinical Editorial Board reviewer based on specialty area. Reviewers are credited on each page they have approved.
- 4Publishing and updates
Pages are published with visible last-updated dates and refreshed quarterly. Significant changes (FDA actions, new clinical guidelines, major price shifts) trigger off-cycle updates. Corrections are made promptly upon notification.

Conflict of interest disclosures
ProcedureFinder earns revenue through three channels, all disclosed:
- Per-lead clinic referrals: When you request to be matched with clinics, we send your inquiry to verified providers in your metro who pay a referral fee. We do not select providers based on the highest fee.
- Featured clinic subscriptions: Verified clinics can purchase featured placement. Featured placement is clearly labeled and does not affect editorial cost ranges, evidence statements, or coverage.
- Patient financing affiliates: We earn commission when patients are approved by CareCredit, Alphaeon Credit, or Proceed Finance. This is disclosed on every page where financing is shown.
